How Your Vote Can Help Stop Diabetes(R)

The American Diabetes Association announces it has been selected as a candidate in Members Project, a partnership between American Express and TakePart. A simple online vote here could make a huge difference in the lives of the nearly 24 million children and adults living with diabetes in the United States.

The public is encouraged to vote for the American Diabetes Association to be one of five organizations to receive $200,000 in funding from American Express. The funding will go to support research to prevent, cure, and manage diabetes; deliver services to hundreds of communities; and give voice to those denied their rights because of diabetes.

"Diabetes is a growing epidemic and is taking a devastating physical, emotional and financial toll on our country," commented Larry Hausner, CEO, American Diabetes Association. "Funding from Members Project would help the American Diabetes Association's efforts to improve this lives of all those affected by diabetes and put us one step closer to stopping this disease once and for all."

Members Project is a partnership between American Express and TakePart, a social action network. Members Project encourages everyone, including non-American Express® Cardmembers, to take his or her step and help support worthy causes and charitable organizations.

Those individuals who've registered here can vote for one organization every week from a list of up to 50 charities. Every three months, the votes are counted and five organizations in that round of voting will share a total of $1,000,000 in funding from American Express. Participants can also get involved by volunteering or donating. Members Project provides the platform to help make taking action easier with organizations like the American Diabetes Association.
